LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's track and field team moved into the USTFCCCA rankings this week as the Bruins check in at No. 23, the organization announced Monday. On top of the team ranking UCLA has 15 marks in the TFFRS top-25 (as of 4/18).

Of the 15 marks in the top 25 the Bruins have five in the top 10. Pacing UCLA in the rankings is national-leader Nicholas Scarvelis in the shot put. In his outdoor season debut Scarvelis launched a personal best throw of 67-0 (20.42m) to easily win the event against top-ranked Texas A&M. His throw of 67-0 ranks fifth all-time on the prestigious UCLA list. Scarvelis also ranks 16^th in the discus with a throw of 192-10.

On top of Scarvelis, sophomore Braheme Days is seventh in the country with a throw of 63-10.50 while freshman Dotun Ogundeji is 15^th at 61-8.25. In the women's shot put junior Torie Owers threw a huge personal best of 57-5 to rank third in the country. Freshman Stamatia Scarvelis follows in 16^th at 54-11.50.

Senior Kylie Price shows up on the list with the No. 2 long jump in the country at 21-4.75. Sophomore Jessie Maduka is 24^th in the event at 20-4.25. Price also anchors the 4x100m relay that is 13^th with a time of 43.91.

Senior Nick Hartle had a breakthrough meet against Texas A&M as the mid-distance ace clocked a personal best of 1:46.73 to rank eighth in the country and third all-time at UCLA.

Also in the top 25 for the Bruins is freshman Michael Burke (21^st, 7-1/HJ), freshman Greta Wagner (21^st, 13-8.50/PV), freshman Angie Annelus (25^th, 23.24/200m) and sophomore Kendall Gustafson in the heptathlon with a score of 5,442.
