Fields & Quinn on Final Phoenix Roster

Nirra Fields makes the final roster with the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury.

LOS ANGELES -- The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury announced its 12-player opening night roster for the 2016 season and two Bruins have made the list. Nirra Fields (2016) and Noelle Quinn (2007) are both on the final roster and are currently in Minnesota in preparation for the 2016 season opener.

The Mercury open the 2016 season with the Lynx on Saturday, May 14 at 3:30 p.m. PT on ESPN at Target Center.

Fields became the first UCLA player since Lindsey Pluimer in 2008 (2nd round by Washington Mystics) to be drafted by the WNBA. She is the ninth Bruin to become a WNBA Draft pick.Quinn was selected fourth overall in the 2007 WNBA Draft by Minnesota.

Fields is the fourth-leading scorer in UCLA history with 1,867 career points. This past season, the three-time All-Pac-12 selection was second on the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. She also averaged 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.

Quinn, the Bruins' fifth all-time leading scorer (1,829 points), is entering her 10th season in the WNBA in 2016 and her second with the Mercury. She has previously played with Seattle (2013-14), Washington (2012), Los Angeles (2009-11) and Minnesota (2007-08) and has made 148 career starts.
