BRYAN, Texas - Junior Bronte Law shot a bogey-free 69 on Thursday at the Traditions Club to put her in a tie for third, as top-ranked UCLA is in fifth place after 18 holes of the Bryan NCAA Regional.

With the top six teams following Saturday's final round advancing to the NCAA Championships in late May, the Bruins are four shots back of Arizona and Georgia after one round. UCLA shot a 1-over 289 as a team.

Law is one of two Bruins in the Top 10. The junior is two shots back of Gonzaga's Bianca Pagdanganan (-5) following her 3-under round. She made birdies on the sixth, 15th and 17th to go with 15 pars. 

Freshman Lilia Vu is one stroke behind Law at 2-under after an opening-round 70. She made two birdies on her opening nine on the third and eighth before dropping strokes on the 10th and 11th. However, Vu finished strong with back-to-back birdies on #14 and #15 to put her in a tie for seventh.

Senior Louise Ridderström is tied for 36th at 2-over (74). She made five birdies on the second, fourth, eighth, 10th and 18th to go with five bogeys and a double. Freshman Bethany Wu also had five birdies and is tied for 60th after a 4-over 76. She birdied #2, #4, #13, #15 and #16 and made one bogey, two doubles and one quadruple bogey. Junior Hadas Libman shot a non-team scoring 80 (+8) and is tied for 83rd. She gained strokes on #6, #10 and #16 while making two bogeys, one double, a triple and a quad.

The Bruins go off the first tee on Friday at 9 a.m. CT/7 a.m. CT in the order of Libman, Wu, Ridderström, Vu and Law. Live scoring will be available here.
