The UCLA men's golf team will travel to Kohler, Wis. and the Blackwolf Run Meadow Valley Course for NCAA Regionals. The 54-hole tournament will take place May 16-18.
The Regional site, one of six around the country, will feature Illinois, Florida State, Florida, Arkansas, Baylor, Penn State, Memphis, Kent State, East Tennessee State, Campbell, Idaho and South Dakota State. The top five teams after three days of play will advance to the NCAA Championships (May 27-June 1) in Eugene, Ore.
The Bruins have finished in the Top 5 in four tournaments this year, placing second at the Amer Ari Invitational (Feb. 4-6), third at the Northern Intercollegiate (Sept. 12-13) and Erin Hills Intercollegiate (Oct. 4-6) and fourth at the Gifford Collegiate (Nov. 2-4). In its most recent tournament, UCLA placed eighth at last weekend's Pac-12 Championships (April 29-May 1).
Senior Jonathan Garrick, who was named All-Pac-12 Second Team on Wednesday, is the top UCLA scorer with a 71.8 average. He has a victory and five Top 10's on the season, winning at Erin Hills, finishing four at the Gifford, T-5 at the Amer Ari Invite, T-6 at the Northern and T-7 at Pac-12s. Of his 31 rounds, 15 have been under par and 11 have been in the 60's.
Freshman Cole Madey, who was also honored on Wednesday with a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, has four Top 20's, including a T-15 at the Pac-12 Championships. He was also T-12 at the Gifford and T-13 at the Amer Ari. At last weekend's Pac-12s, sophomore Tyler Collier tied for 48th, senior Lorens Chan tied for 50th, freshman Phil Delisi tied for 53rd and sophomore Brandon Mai tied for 62nd.
