COURTENAY, British Columbia - Senior Jonathan Garrick tied for second at this week's Mackenzie Tour Q-School qualifying to make him exempt through the first four tour events and subject to re-shuffle.
Garrick shot a four-round total of 12-under 276 (68-69-70-69) to finish two strokes back of Oregon's Aaron Wise. The 2016 Mackenzie Tour season begins May 26-29 with the Freedom 55 Financial Open (May 26-29) in Vancouver, B.C., the first of 12 events held across Canada.
Garrick joined three former Bruins in the qualifying circuit. Manav Shah tied for 10th at the Santee qualifier (April 26-29) to become exempt through the first re-shuffle, while Preston Valder (T-25) and Gregor Main (31st) earned conditional status.
Garrick and UCLA will next travel to Kohler, Wis. for the NCAA Regionals, which run from May 16-18.
