UCLA women's soccer will play a challenging and exciting 2016 schedule, with home games against four previous NCAA champions in Florida, Penn State, North Carolina, and Stanford.

The Bruins kick things off with a scrimmage against BYU at North Athletic Field on Aug. 13 before officially starting the 2016 season on Friday, Aug. 19 at San Diego State. Following a televised scrimmage at Drake Stadium with Beijing Normal on Monday, Aug. 22, the Bruins go back on the road to take on Texas A&M on Friday, Aug. 26. UCLA kicks off a four-game homestand to start the home slate with a Sunday, Aug. 28 matchup against 1998 NCAA champion and defending SEC champion Florida, followed by a Friday, Sept. 2 meeting with defending NCAA champion Penn State. North Carolina, winners of 21 NCAA championships, will come to town on Friday, Sept. 9, followed by San Diego on Sunday, Sept. 11. Other top home matches include 2011 NCAA champion Stanford on Sunday, Oct. 9 and Washington State on Sunday, Oct. 23.

A total of 11 UCLA games will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks this season, along with the Texas A&M match, which will stream on SEC Network+.

The Bruins return a strong senior class led by team co-captains Annie Alvarado, Darian Jenkins, Gabbi Miranda and Courtney Proctor. Also returning in the senior class are former U.S. Youth National Team players Amber Munerlyn and Lauren Kaskie. UCLA also has the nation's No. 1 recruiting class with Top Drawer Soccer Top 10 players Mal Pugh (No. 1), Marley Canales (No. 2) and Jessie Fleming (No. 10). Pugh has been starting with the U.S. Women's National Team, Canales is with the U.S. Under-20 National Team, and Fleming was just named to Canada's Olympic team.

Aug. 13 vs. BYU (scrimmage), 4pm at North Athletic Field 
UCLA begins the season with a scrimmage against a BYU squad that graduated just three players from a team went 16-3-2 a year ago, won the West Coast Conference and advanced to the NCAA second round.

Aug. 19 at San Diego State, 7pm 
On the road for the season opener for the second-straight year, the Bruins will take on San Diego State, which went unbeaten in its last 12 games in 2015 and won the Mountain West regular season title.

Aug. 22 vs. Beijing Normal (scrimmage), 7pm (Pac-12 Networks)
UCLA will scrimmage against Chinese university Beijing Normal in the Bruins' Pac-12 Networks season debut.

Aug. 26 at Texas A&M, 5:30pm (SEC Digital)
The Bruins travel to College Station on Fish Camp night to face a Texas A&M squad that has advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight two years in a row.

Aug. 28 vs. Florida, 3pm (Pac-12 Networks)
The 1998 NCAA champion Florida Gators is the first of four past national champions on the Bruins' schedule. The 2015 Gators won the SEC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16.

Sept. 2 vs. Penn State, 8pm (Pac-12 Networks)
Penn State outscored its opponents 20-0 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament en route to its first ever national title. The Nittany Lions lose graduated MAC Hermann Trophy winner Raquel Rodriguez but return their top two leading scorers in Megan Schafer (13g) and Frannie Crouse (11g). The game is the second in a doubleheader with the UCLA men, who host Duke at 5pm.

Sept. 9 vs. North Carolina, 7pm (Pac-12 Networks) 
UCLA and UNC will meet in the non-conference season for the fourth consecutive year. The last time the two teams met in Los Angeles in 2014, the game ended in a 0-0 tie. The Tar Heels went 15-5-1 last season and advanced to the NCAA second round.

Sept. 11 vs. San Diego, 5pm
The Bruins and Toreros meet for the fourth time in the last three years. UCLA won the 2015 matchup 1-0 in double overtime in San Diego on a Darian Jenkins golden goal. UCLA's all-time record against the Toreros is 19-1-5. 

Sept. 16 at Pepperdine, 3pm
UCLA is 17-3-2 all-time against the Waves, with five consecutive wins in the series, including last year's 1-0 win that came in the final minute on an Annie Alvarado penalty kick.

Sept. 18 vs. Long Beach State, 6pm
The Bruins seek redemption after last season's season-opening loss at Long Beach. The 49ers earned an at-large berth in last year's NCAA Tournament and return top scorer Ashley Gonzalez (8g, 1a).

Sept. 22 vs. Arizona State, 7pm (Pac-12 Networks)
The Sun Devils return to UCLA for the second-straight year. The two teams have played to 1-1 ties in each of the last two seasons.

Sept. 29 at Oregon State, 7pm
Oregon State is led by senior defender Greta Espinoza, who earned All-Pac-12 honors last season. Espinoza played for Mexico at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Oct. 2 at Oregon, 1pm
UCLA has won nine straight against Oregon, including a 1-0 win in Los Angeles in 2015. MacKenzie Cerda scored the game-winner for the Bruins in the ninth minute.

Oct. 6 vs. California, 7pm (Pac-12 Networks)
Cal finished with a 13-6-3 record last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 12^th-straight year. The Golden Bears return 2015 Pac-12 Player of the Year Arielle Ship, who led the conference in scoring with 34 points (14g, 6a).

Oct. 9 vs. Stanford, 1pm
The reigning Pac-12 champions went 19-2-2 a year ago and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Cardinal return Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year Jane Campbell and MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist Andi Sullivan.

Oct. 13 at Arizona, 7pm (Pac-12 Networks)
UCLA handed then-15^th-ranked Arizona a 5-1 loss in Los Angeles in 2015. The Bruins are 21-1 all-time against the Wildcats and have won 11 straight matchups.

Oct. 20 vs. Washington, 5pm (Pac-12 Networks)                                              
Washington is coming off a 12-7-2 season and an NCAA Tournament berth for the third time in the last four years. The match is another doubleheader with the UCLA men, who host Cal at 8pm.

Oct. 23 vs. Washington State, 1pm
Picked to finish ninth in the conference in the preseason poll, the Cougars instead finished third and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. Among the top returning players for the Cougars are NSCAA All-Region players Kaitlyn Johnson and Ella Dederick.

Oct. 27 at Colorado, 1pm (Pac-12 Networks)
This match will be a homecoming for senior Gabbi Miranda and freshman Mal Pugh. The two Mountain Vista HS graduates both played club soccer with Colorado Rush. UCLA is 7-1 all-time against Colorado and won last year's matchup 2-1 behind second-half goals by Amber Munerlyn and Annie Alvarado.

Oct. 30 at Utah, 1pm (Pac-12 Networks)
Senior Darian Jenkins gets the hometown visit in this game. The senior forward played at Riverton HS, where she was the top goal-scorer in 5A in the state of Utah. UCLA is 5-1-1 all-time against Utah. Goalkeeper Siri Ervik earned her first career shutout in last year's 1-0 victory in Los Angeles.

Nov. 4 at USC, 3pm (Pac-12 Networks)
The last two games between the city rivals resulted in school-record attendances. Expect another capacity crowd, this time at McAlister Field, for the regular season finale.
