SAN FRANCISCO -
Senior Rachel Inouye was named a recipient of the 2015-2016 Pac-12 Conference Postgraduate Scholarship, as announced on Monday. The conference announced the 23 outstanding Pac-12 student-athletes who will receive a scholarship of $9,000. All 23 student-athletes maintained a minimum 3.0 grade point average and demonstrated a commitment to education, campus and community involvement, and leadership.

The Postgraduate Scholarship Program was created in 1999 to both honor and financially assist some of the Conference's most outstanding athletes and scholars as they continue their educations. In a program change from previous years, the Pac-12 now annually awards up to 24 scholarships of $9,000 each to former and graduating student-athletes across the conference. Through its institutional selection process, each Pac-12 institution may select two student-athletes, one man and one woman, to be awarded the scholarship.

Inouye concluded her career with three straight, Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades. She competed in 87 matches and 286 sets in her four-year career, recording 570 digs (1.99 per set), 33 service aces and 50 assists. As a senior, Inouye was third on the team with 2.30 dps and tied for the team lead with 21 aces.
