UCLA soccer alumna Rosie White has been named to the New Zealand Olympic team for the second time in her career. White, who helped lead UCLA to its first NCAA championship in 2013, played for New Zealand at the 2012 Olympics and the 2011 and 2015 Women's World Cup.
White, who is currently playing for Liverpool Ladies FC, has amassed 81 career caps and 14 goals for the Football Ferns. In addition, she played for New Zealand in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2008 and 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cups. She won the Golden Ball at the 2014 OFC Women's Nations Cup Tournament and was New Zealand's Young Female Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
At UCLA, White totaled 17 goals and 12 assists over her four-year career (2011-14). In 2013, she made the deciding penalty kick for the Bruins in the NCAA semifinal shootout, and the Bruins went on to win its first-ever NCAA title. White was a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree and a third-team NSCAA Scholar All-Region honoree in 2014.
New Zealand will open Olympic play on Aug. 3 vs. the United States before taking on Colombia on Aug. 6 and France on Aug. 9.
