RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - Sophomore Lilia Vu, who started her final round on Tuesday two strokes back of the lead, fired a closing 68 to win the 2016 SCGA Women's Southern California Amateur Championship by two shots.

Vu was one of two players to finish the tournament under par, posting a score of -6 (210). It was an all Pac-12 threesome in the final pairing, with Vu joined by Arizona's Haley Moore (2nd, -4, 212) and USC's Karen Chung (3rd, E, 216).

Vu shot a pair of 71's on Monday on the par-72 layout to rank solo second after 36 holes. She made four birdies in her opening round and three more in her second 18. On Tuesday, Vu dueled with Moore down the stretch to eventually win by two thanks to a hole-out eagle on the 16th, also making four additional birdies. The Bruin sophomore was coming off a sixth-place finish at the Canadian Women's Amateur Championship (July 26-29), shooting a 3-under 277.

Vu was one of four Bruins playing at the SCGA Women's Amateur. Junior Lydia Choi tied for 17th (+12, 228), while juniors Erin Choi and Aliea Clark did not make the cut after Monday's action.
