Sophomore running back Soso Jamabo of the UCLA football team was voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 6-12.

Jamabo ran 11 times for 90 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-21 Bruin win over UNLV. All three touchdowns (3, 23,7 yards) came in the first half of play as UCLA jumped out to a 28-7 advantage. The most spectacular was a 23-yard scoring scamper in which he reversed field and ran from the left sideline back to the right sideline for a touchdown. Four of his rushes produced a first down. He also caught a pass for 22 yards, which set up his first scoring run. Paul Perkins, at Arizona last season, was the last Bruin to rush for three touchdowns in a half. It marked the fourth time in Jamabo's career that he has rushed for at least 90 yards in a game.

This is Jamabo's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.

The UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. This week, Jamabo ended women's soccer player Jessie Fleming's two-week reign as the Player of the Week. Fleming, who had two goals and an assist in two games, and safety Randall Goforth, who had two interceptions against UNLV, were the other two nominees this week.
