Stahl and Ma'a Earn Volleyball Honors

MITCH STAHL - SPORTS IMPORTS / AVCA DIV. I-II MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK and MPSF/MOLTEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
UCLA junior middle blocker Mitch Stahl (Chambersburg, PA/ Chambersburg HS) was named the Sports Imports/ AVCA Div. I-II Men's Player of the Week and the MPSF/MOLTEN Player of the Week. Stahl hit .619 (29-3-42) during the opening week of the campaign in leading the Bruins to wins over three ranked opponents on the road. He added three aces and 17 blocks (1.42 B/S) on the road trip against No. 14 George Mason, No. 6 Ohio State, and No. 10 Penn State. Stahl's 12 kills against the Lions was one shy of his career-high and his total of 16.5 points in that match was a half point off of his best. This is Stahl's first career AVCA and MPSF Player of the Week honor. Robart Page was the last Bruin to win each award - Jan. 20, 2014.
MICAH MA'A - OFF THE BLOCK/SPRINGBAK, INC. NATIONAL CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
UCLA setter/hitter Micah Ma'a guided UCLA's offense to more than a .350 attack percentage in two of the team's three road victories against nationally ranked opponents last week, including a .538 attack percentage in a straight set win at No. 14 George Mason in the season opener. Ma'a also had 11 kills and 22 assists in a four-set win against No. 6 Ohio State and added 10 kills along with a team-high 26 assists in a five-set victory at No. 10 Penn State.
