Gustafson Completes First Pentathlon

MANHATTAN , Kan. – UCLA newcomer Kendall Gustafson completed her first career multi-event. The Duke transfer placed third in the pentathlon at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational, held in the Ahearn Field House.
Gustafson, who mainly competed in the javelin last season tallied a score of 3,841 points to finish third overall. Former UCLA All-American Tatum Souza was the runner-up in the pentathlon with a career-high score of 4,124 points.
Sophomores Steele Wasik and Zack Bornstein trained through the meet, competing in a few of the heptathlon events.
The Bruins will return to the track on Friday, Jan.29 when they head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Razorback Invitational. The two-day meet will be held in the Tyson Track Center and will air on the SEC Network.
