LOS ANGELES - Members of the UCLA men's tennis team wrapped up play at one tournament and kicked off play at another on Friday, as the Bruins are split between events in Tulsa, Okla. and Santa Barbara, Calif.
At the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center, senior Gage Brymer and junior Martin Redlicki both suffered second-round losses on Friday. Playing in the top-half of the 64-player draw, Brymer took on sixth-seeded Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest, falling 6-3, 6-1. Redlicki, who was in the other half of the draw, nearly upset second-seeded Thai-Son Kwiatkowski of Virginia, as he took the first set 6-3. After Kwiatkowski battled back to win the second set in a tiebreaker, he kept the momentum going into the third set, holdingย on to post a 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5 win.
The two losses on Friday conclude UCLA's play at the event, as Brymer and Redlicki were the Bruins' last remaining players in the tournament. For more information about the ITA Men's All-American Championships, please visit the ITA's EVENT PAGE.
