Four Bruins Garner Pac-12 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO โ The Pac-12 Conference announced on Tuesday the 2016 men's and women's cross country all-conference honors. UCLA had four honorees, the most for the program since the inception of the award in 1999.
Leading the way for UCLA was senior Ferdinand Edman. The senior placed fifth overall at the championship meet last Friday in Tucson with an 8k time of 24:18.4 to earn first team honors.
Earning second team accolades for the Bruins was senior Jonah Diaz, freshman Colin Burke, and senior Austin O'Neil. Diaz placed 10th overall with a time of 24:42.2 while Burke followed in 11th at 24:42.8 and O'Neil 12th in a time of 24:43.6. The honors were all career firsts. ย
In the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll, the UCLA men checked in at No. 8 in the rankings. The No. 8 ranking is the best in program history since the debut of the poll in 1997.
The NCAA Regional Championships will be Friday, Nov. 11. The West Regional (hosted by Sacramento State) will be held in Sacramento. The NCAA National Championships are being held in Terre Haute, Ind. (hosted by Indiana State) on Saturday, Nov. 19.
