Senior Gage Brymer of the UCLA men's tennis team was voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 24-30.
Brymer claimed the ITA Southwest Regional Championships singles title with a straight-set win over USC's Thibault Forget last week. Throughout the tournament, Brymer did not drop a single set. This marked the third-straight year that a Bruin has defeated a Trojan to win the title. With the win, Brymer was awarded direct acceptance into this week's USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
This is Brymer's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
The UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. This week, Brymer beat out women's volleyball player Taylor Formico, who recorded a double-double with 47 digs, 17 assists and two aces in two UCLA victories, and water polo player Patrick Fellner, who scored three goals, including the game-winner, in the Bruins' 7-6 win over Stanford.
