Los Angeles, Calif. – Fourth-seeded UCLA recorded a 3-0 shutout victory over Seattle in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, receiving goals from Anika Rodriguez, Zoey Goralski and Amber Munerlyn. Freshman goalkeeper Teagan Micah earned her second consecutive shutout and eighth of the season, making four saves in the contest.

Rodriguez put UCLA on the board early at 3:11, taking a ball from Sunny Dunphy and dribbling up the middle before firing a shot just outside the box and beating Seattle goalkeeper Mackenzie Curry.

Goralski netted her first goal of the season at 59:21. After the Bruins earned a free kick, Annie Alvarado played a ball to Jessie Fleming, who fed Goralski on the right side. Goralski launched a shot from the right of the box that went over the goalkeeper's reach, hit the crossbar then bounced off the post and into the back of the net.

Munerlyn put the game out of reach at 82:57, taking a cross from Courtney Proctor in front of goal and knocking it in with her left foot for her fifth goal of the year.

The Bruins, who outshot Seattle, 13-7, received contributions from 19 different players.

"The energy was good, and we didn't miss a beat," said UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell. "That's key going into next weekend when we have a Friday-Sunday game, knowing we have players that just played some quality minutes and have confidence. We have a lot of options to put on the field."

UCLA (14-5-1) will next face Nebraska in the second round of the tournament. Nebraska knocked out South Dakota State in penalty kicks, 3-0, after a 0-0 tie. Seattle finishes its season with a 14-6-1 record.
