Men's Tennis Wraps Fall Campaign

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. โ The UCLA men's tennis team wrapped up its fall campaign today at the Jack Kramer Collegiate Invitational. ย After facing some tough competition throughout the past three days, the Bruins now shift their focus to preparing for dual match play in the spring.ย
Sophomore Daniel Gealer and senior Michael Guzman made a run in the consolation singles draw.ย Gealer downed Pepperdine's Nicholas Baez in a third set super tiebreaker in the round of 16 before dispatching Pac-12 foe Sebastian Hawkens of Washington in straight sets in the quarterfinals.ย On the other side of the bracket, Guzman edged Stanford's Yale Goldberg in a third set super tiebreaker in the round of 16. The senior then fell to Washington's Amit Batta in the quarterfinals.ย
In doubles play, Gealer and Maxime Cressy defeated Pepperdine's Stefan Menichella and Matias Sborowitz, 8-3, in the main draw quarterfinals.ย The Bruin duo then fell to UCSB's Simon Freund and Nicholas Moreno de Alboran, 8-4, in the semis. ย ย ย
