LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's basketball program has teamed with the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in this season's Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge.
 
Coaches vs. Cancer has joined forces with the online fundraising vendor PLEDGE IT, bringing back the 3-Point Attack. This 3-Point Challenge is spreading from coast to coast during the 2016-17 college basketball season, looking to help raise funds in the fight against our ultimate rival – cancer.

"The NABC has been working closely with Coaches vs Cancer for years, and we're excited to see the return of the 3-Point Challenge," UCLA head coach Steve Alford said. "This program serves a very important cause and is a great way for college basketball fans from all over the country to help raise funds. We have many great 3-point shooters on our team, so we're looking forward to making those shots to help in the fight against cancer."
 
Teams across the country will be squaring off to see who can score the most 3-pointers to raise the most money in support of the fight against cancer. UCLA fans from around the nation are encouraged to join this worthwhile cause. Fans can support the Bruins by pledging a donation for every 3-pointer made by UCLA this season.
 
The Bruins opened the season last Friday night, sinking a single-game school-record 18 threes in a 39-point victory over Pacific. Through two games, UCLA has made 23 3-point shots, connecting at a 50 percent clip. Last season, UCLA connected on 200 3-pointers, and the year before, the Bruins made 223 treys.
