UCLA Baseball Announces 2017 Schedule

November 15, 2016 | Baseball

LOS ANGELES โ€“ The UCLA Bruins announced their 56-game regular season schedule, which includes 10 conference and 12 non-conference opponents, today.

The Bruins will open the season with a seven-game homestand starting with a three-gameย series against San Jose State, beginning on Friday, Feb. 17. UCLA then hosts UC Riverside on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and Gonzaga for a three-game set beginning on Friday, Feb. 24.

UCLA will play one of the nation's toughest schedules, including seven teams who qualified for postseason play in 2016. Among those seven teams is Arizona, who advanced to the championship series of the College World Series a season ago before falling to eventual champion Coastal Carolina.

In addition to the two non-conference series to begin the season, the Bruins will also go on the road to play the Texas Longhorns for a three-game series from March 10-12. UCLA's other non-conference opponents include Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Long Beach State, Michigan,ย San Diego, San Diego State and UC Irvine.

UCLA will once again be featured in the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic, highlighted by a match-up with cross-town rival USC. The Bruins will play the Trojans on Sunday, March 5 at Dodger Stadium. Michigan and San Diego will serve as the other two institutions in the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic, with the Bruins hosting both the Wolverines and the Toreros March 3-4 at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The Bruins will open Pac-12 conference play on Friday, March 17 with a three-game home series versus the College World Series runner-up Arizona Wildcats. UCLA's additional conference home weekends include series match-ups against California (March 24-26), Washington (April 7-9), Oregon State (April 21-23) and Utah (May 19-21).

UCLA's schedule also features a demanding conference road slate with weekends at Arizona State (March 31-April 2), Stanford (April 13-15), USC (May 5-7), Washington State (May 12-14) and Oregon (May 25-27).

Overall, the 2017ย schedule features 32 home games, 23 road games and one game to be held at a neutral site.

UCLA baseball will be offering season ticket packages for the second-straight season in 2017. Season ticket holders will receive access to the best seats in the stadium, priority seating to post-season games and much more. Season tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 12.
