TJ Leaf Named Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Freshman forward TJ Leaf of the men's basketball team was voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 14-20.
 
Leaf, a 6-foot-10 forward from El Cajon, Calif., averaged 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in UCLA's two victories last week. He shot 76 percent from the field, making 19 of 25 shots and 8 of 9 free throws.
 
A McDonald's All-America selection as a senior at Foothills Christian High School last season, Leaf currently leads the Bruins in scoring (20.3 ppg), rebounding (10.0 rpg) and overall field goal percentage (72.7%, 32-of-44) through four games.
 
Ranked No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches poll, UCLA (4-0) will face Portland (3-0) in a first-round game of the Wooden Legacy on Thursday night. Game time at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Gym is slated for 8 p.m. PT. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
