UCLA's Dylan Luther was named to the second-team of the 2016 Pac-12 Conference Football All-Academic squad, announced on Wednesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.
Luther, a redshirt junior, was a key member of the special teams units and a reserve defensive back this season. He appeared in eight games, primarily on the kickoff coverage unit and was credited with one tackle. In the classroom, he has compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.51 in the Political Science major.
Earning honorable mention were Quarterback Josh Rosen and Linebacker Josh Woods. Rosen, who missed the last six games of the season due to injury, recorded the 10th career 300-yard passing game of his career against Arizona State and is now tied with Brett Hundley for second on the all-time Bruin list, one behind Cade McNown. Woods saw action at linebacker and on special teams for the Bruins this season. He started six games at linebacker and registered 26 tackles, 1.5 for loss, on the year.
To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
