UCLA Returns Home to Host Oregon State
November 07, 2016 | Football
LOS ANGELES - UCLA (3-6, 1-5) returns home to the Rose Bowl to host Oregon State (2-7, 1-5) on November 12 in a game which kicks off at 6 p.m. PT.ย The contest will be televised by the Pac-12 Network and announcing the game will be Ted Robinson, Yogi Roth and Cindy Brunson. The Bruin IMG Radio Network (Josh Lewin, Matt Stevens, Wayne Cook) will radio broadcast the contest on am570. The contest will also be aired over Sirius 93/XM 198 (internet 960), uclabruins.com and tunein.com, and the TuneIn App.
VERSUS OREGON STATE - UCLA leads the series with Oregon State by a 42-16-4 count.ย Last season, on a wet day in Corvallis, the Bruins racked up 676 yards of total offense (390 passing, 284 rushing), third-most in school history, while handing the Beavers a 41-0 setback. It was the Bruins' first shutout since a 2007 contest against Oregon and their first on the road since a 1987 game versus Stanford. Josh Rosen threw for 333 yards and UCLA limited OSU to 246 yards of offense and forced four Beaver turnovers. After a scoreless first quarter, those turnovers led to 24 UCLA second-quarter points. Soso Jamabo ran for 90 yards to lead the UCLA rushing effort.
In the last meeting between the schools in the Rose Bowl, on Sept. 22, 2012, Brett Hundley threw for 372 yards for then-No. 19 UCLA, but the Beavers came away with a 27-20 win. Hundley became the first Bruin to throw for at least 300 yards in three straight games during that contest. However, the OSU defense limited UCLA to 72 yards on the ground, 45 by Johnathan Franklin, while racking up 501 yards of total offense against the Bruins.
In fact, the teams have split the last six meetings played in the Rose Bowl. The Bruins own wins in 2010, 2006 and 2005. The Beavers emerged the victors in 2012, 2008 and 2000. The Bruins defeated Oregon State 27-19, at Corvallis, in the 2011 season. It was the first "Pac-12" contest played by UCLA.
NEXT TIME OUT โ UCLA will host rival USC on Saturday, Nov. 19. Game time or TV network have yet to be announced.
