LOS ANGELES – Freshman forward TJ Leaf of the men's basketball team has been voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Leaf, a 6-foot-10 forward from El Cajon, Calif., also was voted the student-athlete of the week on Nov. 22. He totaled 21 points, eight rebounds and two assists in UCLA's 102-84 win over Michigan last Saturday before a sellout crowd of 13,571 in Pauley Pavilion.
 
Nearly one-third of the way through his freshman season, Leaf is tied for fourth among Pac-12 players in scoring (17.6 ppg) and is tied for sixth in rebounding (9.3 rpg). He leads the conference in field goal percentage, having made 67.9 percent of his total shot attempts (74 for 109). Leaf's 74 made field goals are more than any other Pac-12 player.
 
The weekly award is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. Other nominees for this week's award included Taylor Formico (women's volleyball) and Monique Billings (women's basketball).
 
Ranked No. 2 in the nation, UCLA (10-0) hosts UC Santa Barbara (1-6) in Pauley Pavilion on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Game time is 7:30 p.m. UCLA's game versus the Gauchos will be on the radio in the Los Angeles area on AM 570 (KLAC).
