LOS ANGELES – Freshman guard Aaron Holiday of the men's basketball team has been voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.

Holiday, a 6-foot-1 guard from nearby Chatsworth, Calif., scored 20 points off the bench in each of UCLA's wins last week. He scored a career-high 20 points and dished a season-best six assists last Wednesday in the team's 102-62 win over UC Santa Barbara. Three days later, Holiday scored 20 points and recorded five steals in UCLA's 86-73 victory against Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic in Las Vegas.

One of five UCLA players who has averaged in double figures in scoring this season, Holiday currently leads the Pac-12 in three-point field goal percentage (53.3%, 24 for 45) and ranks fifth in assists per game (4.1 apg). In addition, he has shot 54.5 percent overall from the field, the 12th best shooting percentage in the Pac-12.

The weekly award is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. Other nominees for this week's award were Monique Billings (women's basketball) and Eloise Belanger (diving).

Ranked No. 2 in the AP and USA Today Coaches polls, UCLA (12-0) returns to action against Western Michigan (3-7) in Pauley Pavilion on Wednesday evening. Game time is 8 p.m. UCLA's game will be televised by Pac-12 Network, and the radio broadcast will be available in the Los Angeles area on AM 570 (KLAC).

UCLA seeks to complete the non-conference portion of its regular-season schedule with an undefeated record for the first time since 1994-95. That year, UCLA went 9-0 in the non-conference portion of its schedule before ultimately winning six straight NCAA Tournament games to capture the 1995 NCAA Championship.
