COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Senior Mysha Sataraka stayed hot with two more hits and three RBI, three others had multi-hit games and sophomore Selina Ta'amilo struck out six in a six-hit, complete-game effort, as the seventh-ranked Bruins defeated #24 Texas A&M, 7-3, on Saturday at the Aggie Softball Complex.

The Bruins improved to 3-1 on the season, while the Aggies fell to 3-1.

Ta'amilo allowed only one earned run (three total) with two walks, posting a 1-2-3 inning in the fourth, to improve to 2-0 on the year. Sataraka extended her consecutive hits streak to eight, which is tied for the fifth-longest streak in school history. Senior Allexis Bennett had three hits, freshman Paige Halstead recorded two hits and two RBI and sophomore Madeline Jelenicki added two hits.

For the first this season, the Bruins scored first, tallying three in the top of the third. Bennett led off with a single to left and sophomore Kylee Perez followed with a single to the 5-6 hole. One out later, Jelenicki singled through the 3-4 hole to plate Bennett, as Perez took third. Sataraka then singled to right-center to bring home Perez with the Bruins' second run, as Jelenicki advanced to third. After another out, Halstead hit a perfectly placed ball off the third-base bag, which popped straight up, as Jelenicki came home to make it 3-0.

Texas A&M got two back in its half of the third on a Tori Vidales sacrifice fly and an RBI double by Cali Lanphear, who would be erased at third on a great relay from freshman Zoe Shaw to Perez to Sataraka.

UCLA extended its lead with four in the fifth, sending nine to the plate. With one out, Jelenicki singled to right and Sataraka launched her second homer of the season to right-center to make it a 5-2 lead. Junior Gabrielle Maurice and Halstead followed with back-to-back doubles to stretch the advantage to 6-2. One out later, Shaw walked and Bennett singled down the left-field line, as Halstead scored to make it 7-2.

Once again, the Aggies answered in their half of the same inning, but it was only one run, which scored on a Bruin error to make it 7-3.

The Bruins close out the Aggie Classic on Sunday against Colorado State at 8 a.m. PT/10 a.m. CT. Live stats will be available at UCLABruins.com.
