Cross Country Sends Four to Oregon

LOS ANGELES โ€“ UCLA will be represented by four student-athletes at the 2016 USATF Junior Cross Country Championships that will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6 on the Rivers Edge Golf Course in Bend, Ore.

Representing UCLA will be a trio of freshmen on the men's side in Colin Burke, Millen Trujillo and Carlos Suarez. Jackie Garner will compete for the women. Garner will start things off in a 6k slated for noon while the men's 8k will follow at 12:35 p.m.

The four competed unattached this season for the Bruins. At the Titan Invitational Jackie Garner paced UCLA with a 5k time of 18:16.88. Colin Burke was second on the UCLA men's side in the 8k with a time of 24:33.65. Trujillo was fifth on the team with a 25:03.98 while Suarez was sixth at 25:20.73.

The UCLA men's cross country team finished 14th at the NCAA Championships with senior Lane Werley earning All-American honors.ย
