She also ran the anchor leg on the 4x100m relay that clocked the fastest time at UCLA since 2004 and that ranks fifth in the country. Her 100m time of 11.43 is 14th in the nation.
Making her UCLA outdoor collegiate debut, Stamatia Scarvelis launched the seventh farthest throw in the hammer in school history on her first attempt as she finished the meet with a mark of 195-8. That throw currently ranks 20th in the nation. She also won the discus and was second in the shot put.
Of the 13 marks that rank in the top 25, four are in the top 10 and 12 are in the top 20. On top of Price in the long jump and the 4x100m relay, sophomore Braheme Days is third in the shot put with a throw of 63-10.50 while junior Torie Owers is seventh in the women's shot put at 54-7.50.
UCLA will remain at home next weekend as Drake Stadium will be the host site of the annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 9.
