LOS ANGELES - The No. 20 UCLA women's rowing team lost to No. 12 USC in the annual crosstown dual meet on Saturday morning at USC's home venue, the Port of Los Angeles.
USC defeated the Bruins in each of four races. The Bruins' varsity eight crew posted a time of 6:43.80, crossing the finish line 8.1 seconds behind the Women of Troy (6:35.70).
UCLA's second varsity eight registered a time of 7:00.7, trailing USC (6:55.80) by 4.9 seconds.
The Bruins' varsity four trailed USC by 8.1 seconds, posting a time of 7:33.30. The Women of Troy completed the varsity four race in 7:25.20.
UCLA's third varsity eight provided the closest final margin of the day, posting a time of 7:11.40 and trailing USC by 3.6 seconds. The Women of Troy crossed the finish line in 7:07.80.
The Bruins will return to action at the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, May 15. The conference championships will take place on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
