Three UCLA Rowers Secure CRCA Honors

Junior Marie Jacquet has secured first-team CRCA All-Region 5 honors, as announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association this week.
In addition, senior Alice White and sophomore Jasmine English have earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete Honors. White has been named a national scholar-athlete selection for the third consecutive season (freshmen are not eligible for this academic award).
Jacquet, hailing from Chalon-sur-Saone, France, primarily rowed six seat in UCLA's varsity eight crew throughout her junior season. Her efforts with the team's varsity eight helped that crew secure wins against Duke, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount in dual-meet competitions. The varsity eight also secured a pair of second-place finishes in seven-boat races at the Clemson Invitational in mid-April.
White, a resident of Hamilton, New Zealand, primarily rowed two seat in the varsity eight throughout her senior season. Majoring in psychobiology, White was a major contributor to UCLA's program the past four seasons. As a freshman and sophomore, she helped the Bruins advance to the NCAA Championships. She was also a finalist for UCLA's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, annually presented to the male and female graduating seniors with the highest cumulative GPA.
English, who grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, rowed bow seat in the Bruins' second varsity eight crew during her sophomore campaign. Rowing in the 2V8+ boat, English helped UCLA secure dual-meet victories against Duke, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount. The second varsity eight also posted a second-place finish in the Petite Final at the San Diego Crew Classic.
