A total of 20 UCLA alums across five professional tours are getting their 2017 golf seasons underway all over the world (stats are through 2016 calendar year).
PGA TOUR
Kevin Chappell - Just completed his best professional season in 2015-2016 ... earned just over $4.5 million in 27 events ... had a career-high eight Top 10s, including four second-place finishes (The RSM Classic, Arnold Palmer Invitational, THE PLAYERS Championship, TOUR Championship) ... finished eighth in the FedEx Cup standings in 2015-2016 ... rose to 35th in the Official World Golf Ranking ... in 170 events since turning pro in 2008, Chappell has earned over $11 million ... has six second-place finishes and 19 Top 10 showings.
PGA TOUR/Web.com Tour
Patrick Cantlay - Has been battling injuries over the last few seasons ... has appeared in 28 events since 2011 ... has one Top 10 in 2011 and 2013.
Lucas Lee - Split time between tours last season, playing 16 times on the PGA TOUR and six tournaments on the Web.com Tour ... earned just under 100K, while making six cuts, on the PGA TOUR ... picked up his 2016 TOUR card after finishing 23rd in the 2015 Web.com standings.
Gregor Main - Has appeared in six PGA TOUR events and seven Web.com Tour events ... had one Top 10 in 2014 on the Web.com Tour ... qualified for the 2016 U.S. Open.
Parker McLachlin - Teeing it up at the first full-field event of 2017, the Sony Open in Hawaii ... has appeared in 117 TOUR events since 2000, recording nearly $2.4 million in earnings ... won the 2008 Legends Reno-Tahoe Open to cap his best season on TOUR ... earned over $1.3 million in '08 ... has appeared in just five events over the last two seasons.
John Merrick - Member of the PGA TOUR since 2007 ... has totaled $8.9 million in 253 events ... five finishes in the Top 3 ... Southern California native won the Northern Trust Open in 2013 ... '13 was his best season as a professional, earning almost $2 million ... has crossed the $1-million mark on four occasions ... has split time between the PGA and Web.com Tours last season and this season.
PGA TOUR Champions
Brandt Jobe - Appeared in 22 events during his rookie season of 2016 ... won $900K last year, placing in the Top 10 on seven occasions ... finished third twice (Senior PGA Championship and Dominion Charity Classic) ... played in 337 events on the PGA TOUR, earning just over $9 million ... had 22 Top 10s, including four second-place finishes (two in 2005) and a pair of third-place showings.
Scott McCarron - Played in 24 events during his first full season in 2016, earning over $1.5 million ... had eight Top 10 showings, including two wins and two second-place finishes ... won the Principal Charity Classic in June and the Dominion Charity Classic in November ... finished second at the Senior Open Championship and the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship ... had three Top 10s in eight events in 2015, including one third-place finish, earning $330K ... earned over $12.6 million in 442 events on the PGA TOUR ... won three times in 1996 (Freeport-McDermott Classic), 1997 (BellSouth Classic) and 2001 (BellSouth Classic) ... had 39 Top 10s, including six second-place finishes.
Steve Pate - Has appeared in 123 events on the PGA TOUR Champions since 2011 ... has earned $2.3 million, posting 14 Top 10s ... best finish was a second-place showing at the 2014 Toshiba Classic ... had two Top 10s last season, earning $322K ... recorded just over $8 million in earnings in 553 events on the PGA TOUR ... won six times in 1987 (Southwest Golf Classic), 1988 (MONY Tournament of Champions and Andy Williams Open), 1991 (Honda Classic), 1992 (Buick Invitational) and 1998 (CVS Charity Classic) ... had 67 Top 10s, including seven second-place finishes ... was a member of the 1991 and 1999 Ryder Cup teams.
Corey Pavin - Has played in 118 events since 2010, earning over $4.9 million ... has 42 Top 10s, including a win and six second-place finishes ... won the 2012 Allianz Championship ... had two Top 10s in eight events last season, making $183K ... earned just over $16 million in 660 PGA TOUR events ... won 15 events, including the 1995 U.S. Open ... other tournament wins: 1984 (Houston Coca-Cola Open), 1985 (Colonial National Invitation), 1986 (Hawaiian Open and Greater Milwaukee Open), 1987 (Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and Hawaiian Open), 1988 (Texas Open), 1991 (Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and BellSouth Classic), 1992 (Honda Classic), 1994 (Nissan Open), 1995 (Nissan Open), 1996 (MasterCard Colonial), 2006 (U.S. Bank Championship) ... added 17 second-place showings among his 108 Top 10s ... played on three Ryder Cup teams (1991, 1993 and 1995) and was a Ryder Cup captain in 2010 ... also played on two Presidents Cup teams (1994 and 1996).
Tom Pernice, Jr. - Has appeared in 135 events since 2009, earning over $7 million ... has 51 Top 10s, winning five times and finishing second on four occasions ... won his PGA TOUR Champions debut in 2009 (SAS Championship) ... also won in 2013 (3M Championship), 2014 (Principal Charity Classic and Charles Schwab Cup Championship) and 2016 (PowerShares QQQ Championship) ... had five Top 10s in 25 events last season, earning just under $1 million ... recorded just under $15 million in earnings in 588 PGA TOUR events ... won twice in 1999 (Buick Open) and 2001 (The International) ... added four second-place finishes among his 47 Top 10s.
Duffy Waldorf - Has played in 100 events since 2012, recording $4.5 million in earnings ... has 37 Top 10s, winning twice and placing second in four tournaments ... has won in each of his last two seasons at the 2015 Toshiba Classic and 2016 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai ... in 26 events last season, finished in the Top 10 in 10 tournaments, earning just over $1.2 million ... posted four wins and earned just under $12 million in 593 PGA TOUR events ... also had eight second-place finishes among his 62 Top 10s ... won at the 1995 Texas Open, the 1999 Buick Classic, the '99 Texas Open and the 2000 National Car Rental Golf Classic Disney.
Mackenzie Tour Canada
Jonathan Garrick - In his pro debut, had two Top 10s in nine events in 2016 ... finished tied for second at Q-School ... had a T-3 at the Niagara Championship and a T-5 at the GolfBC Championship ... made his PGA TOUR debut at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba last November, making the cut and tying for 69th (-2).
Jake Knapp - Played in seven events in his first year as a pro in 2016, making two cuts at the GolfBC Championship and the National Capital Open.
Matthew Pinizzotto - Played in 11 tournaments in 2015, making three cuts ... earned his first pro victory last August at the Bogey Hills Invitational on the Adams Tour.
Manav Shah - In his first professional debut, had three Top 10s among his 12 events in 2016 ... finished 22nd in the Order of Merit ... best finish was a T-4 at the Staal Foundation Open ... was also eighth at the Freedom 55 Financial Championship and tied for eighth at the Freedom 55 Financial Open.
Preston Valder - Appeared in three events in his first season on tour, but did not make a cut.
European Tour
Pedro Figueiredo - Has played on the European Challenge Tour since 2013 ... has appeared in 47 events, making the cut 22 times ... has also played in 18 European Tour events, making two cuts.
Daniel Im - Re-earned his card after spending 2015 on the Challenge Tour and played in 26 tournaments in 2016 ... made the money 15 times, including three Top 10s ... tied for third at the Joburg Open, tied for sixth at the Hero Indian Open and tied for eighth at the BMW SA Open ... has appeared in 59 European Tour events, cashing 36 times, including four Top 10s ... in 50 Challenge Tour events, posted seven Top 10s, winning the Swiss Challenge and finishing third at the Kazakhstan Open.
Pontus Widegren - Secured his card for the first time last November at Q-School ... has appeared in 71 events on the Challenge Tour, making 41 cuts ... had 10 Top 10s, including a T-2 placing at the 2013 Norwegian Challenge ... in 16 European Tour events, has made five cuts, including a T-4 showing at the '15 Madeira Islands Open.
