UCLA junior Martin Redlicki (Boca Raton, Fla./Lake Zurich HS) was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week today as announced by the league.
Redlicki did not drop a single set over the weekend, during which the No. 6 Bruins secured a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship with 4-0 victories over New Mexico and Lamar. On Saturday, Redlicki and Evan Zhu set the tone in doubles with a 6-1 win over the Lobos' Rudolfo Jauregui and Rick Hernandez-Tong. Redlicki then tallied the first singles point of the day when he handled Hernandez-Tong in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0.
Then on Sunday, with doubles matches knotted at one, Redlicki and Zhu clinched the point with a win over the Lamar duo of Jeandre Hoogenboezem and Nikita Lis, 6-4. The junior then ended his day by defeating Lis in straight sets to give the 4-0 Bruins their second point.
