Freshman Kyla Ross of the UCLA gymnastics team was voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 23-29.

Ross scored her first career perfect 10 in UCLA's 197.325-196.700 victory at Oregon State on Saturday, posting a 10.0 on the uneven bars in the first rotation. The 2012 Olympic gold medalist had a flawless routine that included three release moves, perfectly vertical handstands and a stuck double layout dismount. Ross' hot streak continued in the second rotation, when she stuck her Yurchenko layout full vault for a career-high 9.925 (out of 9.95). She finished her day with a career-best 9.85 on beam, helping the Bruins achieve a season-high team total.

This is Ross' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.

The UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. This week, Ross beat out track & field's Michael Burke, who set a new UCLA indoor record in the high jump; women's basketball player Jordin Canada, who averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 assists in a sweep of the Arizona schools; and men's volleyball player JT Hatch, who hit .348 in three Bruin sweeps.
