The UCLA track and field team concluded a split squad weekend in Albuquerque and Seattle with more personal bests and top-10 school marks on Saturday.

For the second week in a row, sophomore Greta Wagner soared to new heights as she cleared 13-10 to place third overall and first against collegiate competition. Wagner was pushed by Bruin alum pole vault great Allison Koressel, who was the runner-up at 14-2. Wagner now moves into a tie for sixth on the UCLA all-time indoor list.

In the shot put, sophomore Ashlie Blake was fourth with a season-best throw of 52-7.25. Senior Torie Owers closely followed in fifth at 51-11. Sophomore Dotun Ogundeji finished as the runner-up in the men's shot put with a throw of 62-6.75. Also in the field events, freshman Tobia Bocchi placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 50-10.75.

After running an impressive 600m yesterday, junior Joe Herrera came back to run a 46.98 in the 400m to finish third overall. The converted time of 47.09 ranks fifth on the UCLA indoor list.

In the 60m, junior Leon Powell placed fifth with a time of 6.72. He clocked a 6.71 to win his heat in the prelims. Freshman Celera Barnes was fourth in the women's 60m at 7.34. Junior Misana Viltz finished seventh in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.04.

In Seattle, the Bruins got a great feel for the oval that will host the MPSF Championships as several personal bests were run.

Freshman Cassie Durgy posted another solid mile for the second week in a row. The newcomer clocked a 4:46.82 on the Dempsey track. That time strengthens the seventh best showing in UCLA women's indoor history. Also showing up in the mile in Seattle was Emily Scharmann, who clocked a personal best of 4:48.06. Carolina Johnson opened up her indoor campaign with a 4:49.91.

In the men's event, Arturo Sotomayor continued his stellar indoor season by running a 4:04.56. John Carter Blunt followed at 4:05.71 while Tyler Janes was right behind at 4:06.06.

The Bruins will be back in action in the Dempsey Indoor for the two-day MPSF Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25 at the University of Washington.
