SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball has earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, as announced Monday by the Pac-12 Conference office.
 
Ball averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in the Bruins' two victories last week. The 6-foot-6 guard from Chino Hills, Calif., totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds in UCLA's 82-79 win over No. 5 Oregon on Thursday before logging a team-high 22 points nine assists in an 18-point win against Oregon State on Sunday.
 
Ball continues to lead the nation in total assists (198) and ranks second, nationally, in assists per game (7.6 apg). He leads the Pac-12 in both of those categories and also ranks first in the conference in assist-turnover ratio (3.0). Ball has shot 43.2 percent from three-point range, the fifth-highest percentage in the Pac-12 and is third in the conference in steals per game (1.8).
 
In Sunday's 78-60 win against Oregon State, Ball shot 9-for-12 from the field and scored at least 20 points for the sixth time in 25 games this season.
 
Ball's 15-point, 11-rebound effort on Thursday against Oregon helped UCLA overcome a 19-point first-half deficit. Ball scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half, including a deep three-pointer with 32 seconds to play in the game that gave UCLA an 80-75 advantage.
 
The Bruins (23-3, 10-3 Pac-12) are currently ranked No. 5 in the USA Today Coaches poll and No. 6 in the AP poll.
 
UCLA returns to action against USC (21-5, 8-5) on Saturday, Feb. 18. Game time is 7 p.m. UCLA's game will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
