BOCA RATON, Fla. – Needing to eagle the 18th hole to win, Bruin alum Scott McCarron did just that on Sunday to take the Allianz Championship and post his third victory in his last 17 starts on the PGA TOUR Champions.

McCarron made two eagles in his final round and three overall, finishing the tournament at 17-under (199) to win by one shot. He had bogeyed his 17th hole to fall one shot back, but instead of making birdie on the par-5 18th to get into a three-man playoff, McCarron sunk a six-footer for three to raise another trophy.

Last season, McCarron won twice at the Principal Charity Classic in June and the Dominion Charity Classic in November, also finishing second at the Senior Open Championship and the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. He recorded eight Top10s, earning over $1.5 million in 24 events during his first full season on the PGA TOUR Champions.
