LOS ANGELES – UCLA is heading back to Dempsey Indoor on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Indoor Championships. The meet marks the beginning of the postseason for the Bruins.

The meet will kick off on Friday, Feb. 24 at Noon, with the start of the women's weight throw. Saturday's competition will begin with several events at 10:30 a.m.

The MPSF Championships will include a stacked field of teams. The men will face two top-10 teams in Oregon (3) and Colorado (7), with USC (17), Washington (19), and Stanford (22) rounding out their nationally ranked opponents.

With their top-ranked squad, Oregon headlines the women's opposition, which also features USC (5), Colorado (22), and Stanford (23).

Heading into the MPSF Championships, several Bruins are maintaining nationally ranked marks. Sophomore Rai Benjamin's school record time of 20.83 puts him 15th nationally in the 200m while junior Kendal Gustafson's score of 3,882 points in the pentathlon is good for 24th.

In the field events, freshman Michael Burke leads the way for the Bruins with his leap of 7-3 in the high jump that ranks seventh in the nation. Senior Austin Hazel is 10th in the long jump with his mark of 25-7.25, and sophomore Greta Wagner is 15th in the pole vault with her clearance of 13-10. Sophomore Dotun Ogundeji's throw of 62-6.75 is 12th in the country in the shot put.  

UCLA will open the outdoor season in a meet at CSU Long Beach on March 4. The NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas will begin on March 10.
