LOS ANGELES – Freshman guard TJ Leaf of the men's basketball team has been voted as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this season.
 
Leaf, a 6-foot-10 forward from El Cajon, Calif., averaged 18.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as the Bruins secured victories last week at Arizona State and No. 4 Arizona. He shot 66.7 percent from the field, raising his Pac-12-leading field goal percentage to 63.1.
 
Leaf has scored in double figures in 27 of UCLA's 29 games, helping the Bruins to a 26-3 record with just two regular-season games remaining – both at home this week.
 
Against Arizona State last Thursday, Leaf had 25 points and nine rebounds. Two nights later, he totaled 12 points and seven rebounds as UCLA snapped Arizona's 21-game home win streak with a 77-72 victory at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz.
 
The weekly award is chosen by fans on Twitter via @UCLAAthletics. Other nominees for this week's award were Kennedy Burke (women's basketball), Dotun Ogundeji (track and field) and Maria Polyakova (swimming and diving).
 
UCLA is currently ranked No. 2 (tied) in the USA Today Coaches poll and No. 3 in the Associated Press poll.
 
The Bruins (26-3, 13-3 Pac-12) are back in action against Washington (9-19, 2-14 Pac-12) on Wednesday, March 1. Game time in Pauley Pavilion is 8 p.m. (PT). UCLA's game against Washington will be nationally televised on FOX Sports 1.
