SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA standout Ben Francisco will join Bruin alums Eric Byrnes and Andy Lopez as on-air talent for the Pac-12 Network this season. The Pac-12 Network is set to deliver over 102 collegiate baseball broadcasts this season.

Francisco joins the Pac-12 Network for his first season following a seven-year Major League Baseball career. Francisco made his mark as a star outfielder for the UCLA Bruins, earning All-Pac-10 honors in 2001. In 2002 he led the Bruins with a .368 batting average with a conference-best 20 stolen bases before being drafted in the fifth round of the MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians.

Byrnes, who already called the UCLA-USC game at Dodger Stadium earlier this season, is an 11-year veteran of Major League Baseball. He played for UCLA from 1995-98 and is tops in program history in games played, hits, doubles, at-bats and runs scored. Byrnes was named an All-American in 1995 and is a two-time All-Pac 10 selection in 1995 and 1997 before being drafted in the eighth round by the Oakland Athletics.

Lopez played for the Bruins from 1974-75 where he hit .267 in 77 games played and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1975 in the ninth round. He would go into coaching and become one of three head coaches to lead three different programs to the College World Series (Pepperdine, Florida, Arizona) and only one of two coaches to win the College World Series at two separate programs (Pepperdine and Arizona).

UCLA begins a three-game series with California this weekend with all three games being televised on the Pac-12 Network.
