LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing program will open its spring season at the UC Challenge Cup the morning of Saturday, March 4.
Multiple crews from schools within the University of California system will be on hand this Saturday, including UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara. Competition will take place in Newport Beach, Calif., at the home of UC Irvine's rowing program.
The UCLA women's rowing team will open its competition with the novice eight race at 8:30 a.m. After a 20-minute intermission from 8:40-9:00 a.m., racing will continue with two eights in the women's second varsity eight at 9:10 a.m. and the varsity eight race at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday morning's race will be the first of five events at which the Bruins will compete this spring. Following Saturday's UC Challenge Cup, UCLA will be back in action against Stanford and San Diego State in Marina del Rey, Calif., on Saturday, March 11.
