CORVALLIS, Ore. - Senior Delaney Spaulding and sophomore Paige Halstead collected the only hits for the eighth-ranked Bruins on Thursday, as UCLA dropped an 8-0, five-inning decision at Oregon State.

The Bruins (28-11, 4-6 Pac-12) had only two baserunners in the game on singles by Spaulding in the first and Halstead in the second. Redshirt freshman Rachel Garcia struck out two in 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs, four hits and two walks. Junior Selina Ta'amilo fanned two in 1 2/3 frames of relief, giving up four runs, four hits and three walks.

Oregon State (20-17, 3-7 Pac-12) scored four runs in both the third and fourth innings. In the third, an RBI single by Alysha Everett and a three-run homer from Natalie Hampton made it 4-0. In the fourth, a three-run double by Everett and an RBI single by Sammi Noland made it 8-0.

The Bruins continue their three-game series at Oregon State on Friday at 3 p.m. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
