Five Bruins were named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball teams which were announced on Thursday. Heading the list were first-team selections senior middle blocker Mitch Stahl and junior outside hitter Jake Arnitz. Earning Honorable Mention were a trio of Bruins - junior outside hitter/libero  JT Hatch, freshman middle blocker Daenan Gyimah and sophomore setter / opposite Micah Ma'a. In addition, Gyimah was chosen to the All-MPSF  Freshman team. UCLA will open MPSF Playoff action on Saturday with a quarterfinal match at UC Irvine at 7 p.m.

Arnitz, who led the Bruins with a 3.45 kills per set mark, was picked for the first team for the second straight season. He has moved up to ninth on the all-time UCLA kills list (800) for the rally scoring era (since 2001). It was the initial first-team selection for Stahl who currently ranks sixth in the nation with his 0.57 aces per set average. His total of 42 sets this season rates ninth on the all-time single season list (rally scoring era) at UCLA. Stahl is listed third on the school's all-time career block assist list (320) and second on the all-time aces list (129).

Hatch, who posted career-highs in kills (24) and digs (16) in a match earlier this season at Pepperdine, received MPSF honors for the third straight season. He led the team in digs per set this season (1.68) and was a honorable mention pick last season as well as a second-team selection as a freshman in 2015. Gyimah's .494 hitting percentage ranks third in the MPSF and he has recorded multiple blocks in 14 of his 19 matches played this season. Ma'a, a first-team choice of the coaches in 2016, was in and out of the lineup this season due to health issues. The sophomore, who was a first-team selection as a freshman, ranks third on the team in aces (26) and was second on the squad in block assists (58).
