TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomores Lilia Vu and Bethany Wu are the lone players under par after the first day of a windy Pac-12 Championships at the Sewailo Golf Club, as the Bruins as a team are in first place by six shots.

The Bruins shot a 2-over 290 and sit a half dozen strokes ahead of second-place Colorado and Stanford.

Vu, who has won each of her last three tournaments, overcame a slow start to make five birdies and finish in red figures. After dropping shots on #3 and #4, along with a birdie on #5 and a bogey on #7, Vu birdied three straight on the eighth, ninth and 10th. She would get it to 2-under with a birdie on #13 before making bogey on her final hole to shoot a 1-under 71.

Wu had an outstanding front nine, posting a 4-under 32 thanks to an eagle on #8 and birdies on #2, #5 and #6, with just a bogey on the fourth her lone blemish in her first nine holes. She would make two more birdies on the back nine on #11 and #14, along with three bogeys and a double, to also shoot a 1-under 71.
