SAN FRANCISCO - In the midst of the best stretch of her collegiate career, sophomore Lilia Vu earned her first conference honor on Monday after being named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month for March.

In two March tournaments, Vu was a perfect 3-0 in match play, helping the Bruins to a victory at the Gifford Great 8, while obliterating the field for a stroke-play win at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, with UCLA also winning that tournament.

Coming off a win, the first of her career, at the Bruin Wave Invitational to end the month of February, Vu notched three victories at the Gifford Great 8 Match Play (March 13-14), defeating Oregon's Amy Matsuoka (6&4) in the quarterfinals, Colorado's Kirsty Hodgkins (7&6) in the semifinals and USC's Gabriella Then (1-up) in the championship.

Two weeks later in Maui (March 27-29), Vu set an Anuenue Classic record by finishing at 12-under (204) to win the tournament by seven shots. Vu's second-straight, stroke-play victory was the second-best score in Bruin history for a 54-hole event. She led all players in par-4 scoring (-4, only player under par), par-5 scoring (-11) and birdies made (18). After an opening-round 5-under 67, Vu tied a career-low round with a 6-under 66. She finished the tournament with a 1-under 71.

Vu is the second Bruin to earn Pac-12 Golfer of the Month honors this season, after Bronte Law picked up the award for November.

Vu and the Bruins return to the course this weekend in Napa at the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Country Club.
