LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. – Sean Bouchard hit a home run, while Jack Stronach drove in a pair of runs as the UCLA baseball team fell to San Diego State, 5-4, on Tuesday from the Diamond in Lake Elsinore.

With the Bruins leading by two runs, the Aztecs took a 5-4 lead as Andrew Brown drove in his third run of the game with a single in the fourth inning followed by a two-run double in the sixth inning by Alan Trejo to take the one-run lead.

UCLA scored four runs in the fourth inning for their first lead of the game. Bouchard led off the inning with a solo home run to left field followed by the Bruins loading the bases. Stronach ripped a two-run double to right field followed by Ryan Kreidler plating Chase Strumpf for a 4-2 advantage.

San Diego State scored the first runs of the game in the second inning as Brown hit a two-run double to centerfield.

UCLA's Nick Scheidler (1-4) suffered the loss, while starter Justin Hooper tossed 3.2 innings allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts. San Diego State's Logan Boyer (1-0) earned the winning throwing a perfect sixth inning and CJ Saylor recorded his eighth save of the season. SDSU starter Ray Lambert allowed four runs in 3.0 innings on six hits en route to a no-decision.

The Bruins finished the game with four runs on seven hits, while the Aztecs ended the game with five runs on seven hits and one error.

UCLA will open a three-game homestand on Friday as it faces Washington for a weekend Pac-12 series starting on Friday at 6 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Stadium.
