LOS ANGELES -- Both of the beach volleyball pairs representing UCLA at the inaugural USAV Beach Collegiate Pairs Championship at the Hermosa Beach Pier in Hermosa Beach, Calif., completed play today.

Seniors Jordan Anderson and Kamila Tan finished second in Pool A after a three-set (21-18, 21-23, 15-12) win over Cal Poly's Hannah Hubbard and Emily Sonny. The 13th-seeded duo then squared off with 14th-seeded Savannah Slattery and Sarah Sponcil in the round of 16, falling in straight sets, 21-17, 21-16.

UCLA's freshman pair of Madi Yeomans and Lily Justine also finished second in pool play (C) after a straight-set win over Washington's top pair of 22nd-seeded Tia Scambray and Crissy Jones, 21-19, 21-19. The 15th-seeded tandem then fell in the round of 16 to 7th-seeded Madison and McKenna Witt of Arizona in three tight sets, 18-21, 21-18, 15-11.

The champion from the men's and women's brackets will earn a spot on a USA Volleyball collegiate beach national team. NBCSN will air the women's final live on Saturday, May 13, at 3 p.m. PT, with the men's final to follow on a taped-delay basis.

On the men's side, Jackson Bantle and Hagen Smith from the UCLA indoor team, won their pool (B) with a 3-0 record after a straigh-set win over UC Irvine's Dillon Hoffman and Reid Dominguez, 21-14, 21-15 The second-seeded Bruin pair then defeated 9th-seeded Alex Vohland and Brett Cooper of Mount St. Joseph University in straight sets, 21-9, 21-17 in today's quarterfinals. The Bruins will face 10th-seeded Brett Rosenmeier and Colton Cowell of Hawai'i in Saturday's semifinal at 8:30 a.m.
