SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - Sophomore Lilia Vu was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association First Team All-American for the second year in a row on Tuesday, while freshman Mariel Galdiano was recognized on the WGCA All-American Honorable Mention Team.

Vu had an historic season for the Bruins, winning a school-record four tournaments in a row to also tie a single-season UCLA mark. The sophomore had a 71.4 scoring average, the second-lowest for one season at UCLA, finishing the year at 16-under in 27 rounds. Vu's streak began at the Bruin Wave Invitational (Feb. 27-28) when she was the only player not to finish over par when she posted an even-par 219. After going 3-0 in match play at the Gifford Great 8, Vu resumed her stroke-play dominance at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic (March 27-29) with a seven-stroke victory, posting a 12-under total of 204. Two weeks later, Vu tied for first at the Silverado Showdown (April 9-11), shooting an 8-under 208, including a single-round, school-record 63 (-9) in the second round. The sophomore then became the fifth Bruin to win the Pac-12 Championships, shooting a 7-under 209 to win by six shots. Vu had six Top 10s on the season, 13 rounds under par and nine in the 60s.

Galdiano was second on the team with a 72.4 scoring average, producing five Top 10s and seven Top 20s in 10 events. She had 11 under-par rounds and five in the 60s, including a season-low 67 in the final round of the Anuenue to finish fourth. Galdiano's best tournament was at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview (Oct. 24-25), as she returned to her native Hawai'i to place solo second (-4, 215). The freshman was also solo second at the Pac-12s (-1, 215) and tied for third at the Bruin Wave (+4, 223).
