SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pac-12 Conference announced the 47 student-athletes on its Beach Volleyball All-Academic Teams this week and six Bruins made the grade. Sophomores Megan McNamara and Izzy Carey were each named to the First Team while senior Kamila Tan, junior Elise Zappia and sophomore Nicole McNamara were named to the Second Team. Senior Jordan Anderson earned Honorable Mention honors.

The Bruins finished the season ranked fifth in they country after winning a school-record 30 wins. The only losses this season (30-6) were to #1 USC (three times), #2 Pepperdine (twice) and #4 Florida State (once). The Bruins set a UCLA record for consecutive dual victories this season at 24 and beat #1 USC for the first time in program history in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Championship that snapped the Trojanss' 62-match winning streak.

Additionally, since freshmen and transfers in their first year are not allowed to be considered for All-Academic honors, that means 100 percent of UCLA's players eligible for All-Academic honors made the grade and earned Pac-12 awards.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
