DES MOINES, Iowa - For the second year in a row, a Bruin alum picked up his first PGA TOUR Champions victory at the Principal Charity Classic, as Brandt Jobe held off among others the defending champion and his former UCLA roommate Scott McCarron on Sunday.

Jobe won by one shot, finishing at 14-under (202) to record his first victory since the 1998 Mizuno Open. It is the 14th win of Jobe's professional career. He shot a 3-under 69 in his final round, defeating McCarron and Kevin Sutherland. McCarron shot Sunday's best score with a 6-under 66 to finish at 13-under (203).

Jobe's first PGA TOUR Champions victory came in his 32nd start. He finished 20th in last year's Charles Schwab Cup standings in his first full season on Tour, and this year, has three Top 10s and is ranked sixth in the Schwab Cup standings. 

McCarron, who had six birdies in a row at one point on Sunday, has 11 Top 10s since last year's victory in Des Moines. He won the Allianz Championship in February, adding a pair of runner-ups and six Top 10s since last June. McCarron is currently second in the Schwab Cup rankings.

The Top 5 finishes for Bruin alums weren't confined to the PGA TOUR Champions. Kevin Chappell posted a T-4 finish (-8 ,272) at the PGA TOUR's FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tenn. Chappell, who is 24th in the FedEx Cup standings, has three Top 10s on the season, including his first-career victory at the Valero Texas Open in April. Next up for the Bruin alum is next week's U.S. Open at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis.
