LOS ANGELES -- UCLA senior guard Kari Korver has signed a contract to play professionally with the TH Wohnbau Angels in Germany for the upcoming season. The team is also known as the BG Donau-Ries Angels.

The Angels compete in the DBBL (1. Basketball Bundesliga League), Germany's top division in women's basketball. The Angels are located in Nördlingen, which is a city of around 19,000 in the Danube-Ries district in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany.

"She comes as a rookie, but we are convinced that she will help us from the start," said Patrick Bär, head coach of the Angels. "She will be used as a wing player at position two where she can show her shooting capabilities. She will be an important part of the Nördlinger attack game."

She will join a 13-man roster that includes eight players from Germany, two Canadians (Kim Pierre-Louis, UMass and Erin Chambers, Simon Fraser), one player from Finland and one other American, point guard Jennifer Schlott of Utah State.

"I am very grateful for the chance to continue playing basketball in Germany and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me there," Korver said.

Korver will report in late August and the Angels' season begins on September 1 and runs through March.
