LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- UCLA senior attacker Max Irving (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Wilson HS) was named the MPSF/KAP7 Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Irving accumulated nine goals as the Bruins defeated four ranked teams to win the Mountain Pacific Invitational (Sept. 22-24) for the second straight year. He scored at least one goal in all four games, including one each in a 7-4 win at No. 20 Loyola Marymount, in a 9-8 quarterfinal win over No. 5 Pacific, and in a 9-8 overtime semifinal win over No. 1 California.

In the title game, Irving exploded for a career-high and 2017 MPSF single-game high six goals to pace the Bruins to a 13-11 win at No. 2 USC. He added four steals, two assists, one field block and one drawn exclusion through the invitational. This is Irving's first career MPSF weekly award.
